Batchmates,

Pax et Bonum!

The leadership of the alumni association has been formally turned-over to our batch. The responsibility of maintaining and developing the alumni association into a more responsive and dynamic organization now rests on our shoulders. It is a tall order indeed!

For the past five years of being president of batch '82, it is an honor and privilege of serving one of the most energetic and prolific batches LSQC has ever produced. Touching base with batchmates provided the motivation to keep on going. I did not only regain friends but brothers as well!

I will treasure these experiences as I head the alumni association. Whatever success we had in our batch hopefully can be duplicated if not surpassed in the association. The overwhelming support you have given to the leadership of the batch cannot be taken for granted! I am very grateful and I do hope that you continue that kind of support in the years to come.

Come 19 April 2006, a new dimension is about to unfold! Batch '82 will enter another level of growth. It is about time to pass the baton and inject new perspectives for our batch to improve and prosper more.

Welcome aboard, TOTI ESGUERRA as the next president of batch '82!!! May you continue whatever the batch has started. Wishing you all the best!!!

HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE!!!

George P. Escarraga
Batch '82 President 2001-2006

PS The batch turnover is scheduled this April 19 at the Lourdes High School Magnificat Hall after the 7pm First Alumni Board and Executive Joint Meeting. Everyone is invited to witness this ceremony!

Dear George,

The Lord is risen! Yes, He is truly risen! Alleluia! Alleluia! May you savor the fullness Christ's glorious resurrection! The Holy Spirit renews the face of the earth, may you be possessed by the same spirit as you begin your journey being the dynamic El Presidente of LSQC SOL Batch '82! May you gain more and more BROTHERS not only from your batch but from all the other batches as well!

You're always in my prayers George that you may worthily serve the LSQCAA in its journey to reach the associations lofty goals! More power and carry on!

Again, Happy Easter to you and your family!

Fraternally,
Fr. Ed Tiamson, OFM Cap.

Fr. Ed,

Thank you for your prayers. Batch '82 highly regards you as one of our pillars and strengths who guided us of what we are today!

We will continue doing projects that is beneficial not only to the school and the alumni but to the community as well. We hope that the collaboration between LSQC and LSM through our respective associations will strengthen more in the years to come.

We are slowly evolving the alumni association as a self-reliant organization rather than as a batch dependent entity. As to batch '82, I have trust and confidence with the leadership of Prez Toti Esguerra and I am sure it will even reach greater heights.

Whatever we do, wherever we are, this I have to say:

SONS (and daughters, too!) OF LOURDES WE WILL EVER BE!!!

George

Batchmates,

Pax et Bonum and a Glorious & Happy Easter!!!

I am proud and honored that the leadership of one of the most vibrant, receptive and dynamic batches be passed on to yours truly. I humbly accept the baton of presidency of Batch '82. Though it is quite a tall order to fill in the shoes that Prez George is passing on, I am confident that we will be able to continue on with the momentum we have gained the past years under his wings.

Through the past 5 years, the accomplishments of the batch are enviable. I congatulate Prez George and the batch as well for this resounding success. We intend to keep it that way. But much work is in progress and there will always be that need to reach greater heights for our batch - not to prove our worth - but to give back to our Alma Mater and share with the less fortunate what we have gained from being Lourdesians these past 24 years and 15 days.

Much has to be done and the road is long and arduous. Our batch has always proven that things can be done if we put our hearts and minds into what we hope to accomplish. The tireless and selfless collaboration of a few has proved to be very encouraging to many and I hope we continue to grow in numbers so that more may be achieved. Prez George and I have always shared the vision of a proactive, dynamic and evolving organization, and this shared vision translates to what we have achieved and what more we can do come "2007 & BEYOND".

It is quite timely that I lead Batch '82 into our Silver Jubilee year. The challenge is even greater once more. The responsibility of bringing together the biggest batch LSQC has ever produced is indeed a greater feat. Come February 24, 2007, the LSQC Alumni community anticipates an Alumni Homecoming to remember. We will not fail them.

I am now officially posting as Alumni Committee Homecoming Co-Chair, with the consent of our Alumni Homecoming Chairman, Dr. Jonas Del Rosario, the Homecoming Committee's organizational chart. I encourage each and everyone to actively participate in any committee that you deem would most benefit from your individual talents, time and treasures whether directly or indirectly. In the days to come, we will be posting the same chart with committee chairmen listed so that you may know who to get in touch with and how to get in touch with them.

To my dear Batchmates in the U.S., Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and where ever else in the world, your Batchmates here in the Philippines and I count on you; more than anything else, we hope your presence will grace our Homecoming and Silver Jubilee celebration, and further, we hope for your continuing support.

Thank you!

TOTI F. ESGUERRA

TOTI

Dear President and Batchmates,

Thank you Toti for posting the organizational chart. Congratulations for taking over the helm from George as LSQC 82 president.

George, thank you for steering us to great heights. Your dedication and vision is remarkable. I know you are just getting started.

I again renew my invitation to you guys! VOLUNTEER your talents and be a part of the homecoming organizing committee. We will be posting the heads of the different committees once the line-up is completed. The number of members in each committee is unlimited. We are also giving a free-hand to the committee heads to tap anyone he wants to be part of HIS team. To those who are already in, welcome and thank you!

I also would like to thank those who gave their suggestions for the title/theme of our homecoming next year. REWIND: BLAST FROM THE PAST was the name adopted and decided by the Executive Committee. Dong Bernardo already advertised this in a couple of newspapers last month.

Please feel free to voice out your opinion or suggestions. Remember, it is OUR homecoming. Be counted. A lot is expected from our batch and I am sure we can handle the challenge and deliver.

Proud to be '82!

Jonas Del Rosario

FORMAL AND YET.....

QUEZON CITY. Last April 19, here at the Lourdes School of Quezon City High School Grounds, committed alumnus and company came for the 1st Joint Board and Execom Meeting by LSQC Alumni Association President (AA Prez) George Escarraga.

The group started at exactly 7:30pm. The SAC meeting room had an atmosphere of a “fellowship” – ceremonial as well as casual, formal and yet comfortable. It was called to order by AA Prez George; the invocation was by Edmund Lopez; the Pambansang Awit led by Jojo Angus; roll call exclaimed by Atty. Joseph Literal.

A short speech by the AA Prez and he discussed his primed agenda – creation of new posts and appointments to AA’s legal group and AA committees and an election of new set of AA Execom officers. The induction of said new officers is scheduled on May 31, Wednesday.

There was discussion about on-going projects by the AA such as UnionBank Visa Card, the renovation of the LSQCAA office and proposed fund raising activity – Texas Hold’em Poker. There were announcements such as the May 1st memorial mass for Fr. Modesto OFM Cap, the conclusion of the 1st Padre Pio Perpetual Cup Basketball Tournament, the launch of the 1st Copa San Francisco Badminton Tournament the by Sons Of Lourdes Goodwill Games.

We ended by a representative of batch 2006 (fresh graduates) leading us to sing the Lourdes Forever. The group formally adjourned at 9:17pm.

The meeting gave the impression encapsulated to this idea – That the LSQCAA shall evolve into a self-reliant association and its focus will not be the homecoming alone but a commemorative endeavor throughout the year connecting every LSQC alumni and the community. The homecoming event is a culminating activity of the alumni body taking part in celebration with the host batch.

Hmmm… Tara na! Let us support the LSQCAA now and then either with our talent, our time and our treasure!

Pax Et Bonum!

Jojo
