Mon Correa posted the following message on April 5, 2001:
Opinion Poll: What are we gonna give back to our Alma Mater after 20 years?
Cash
Equipment
Plaque/Marker
Mural
Services
Monument
Ohers (please specify)

In response to this, Aids Lecaros wrote the following letter dated
April 15, 2001:
My Fellow Lourdesians:
Its me, Adriano Lecaros, and thanks to LSQC I am now a lawyer.
After reading almost 40 emails from our lsqc yahoogroups, I am moved to try and
give some food for serious thought to all of you out there. I wish to give back
something to our Alma Mater as I told everyone present at Egay Castillo's house,
it's not enough that we attend our 20th homecoming next year. I feel that as the
biggest batch ever produced 280 ba tayo? we must try to help LSQC.
I think Joseph Literal volunteered to ask from the principal's office what LSQC
really needs. I hope Mon Correa or Leo Virtucio can also find out what we can
give or donate to LSQC that is truly needed by the present students of our school.
After all, we should try to help them turn out the way we have we all turned
out OK naman di ba? Wala naman yatang nagwala talaga sa Batch 82.
In this regard, I propose that Leo Virtucio (being voted as the OIC for membership
in this core group) be empowered to start a foundation the LSQC Batch 1982
foundation. I volunteer to help out in whatever way I can and I also pledge
P1,000 to the bank account of this proposed foundation. I think we should open
a PNB savings account so that our batchmates abroad can just deposit in the PNB
oversesas branches. As Leo Virtucio is the most honest guy I know I also propose
that he be OIC for this endeavor.
I call upon Mon Correa, Jeff Pizarro, Egay Castillo, Edmund Lopez, AJ Fausto,
Allen Isidro, Ben Racela, Joseph Literal, and the rest of you guys to respond
favorably or not to my proposal. Please give some feedback and let us try to
focus on giving something back to LSQC in time for next year when we will be
the 20th anniversary celebrants.
Hopefully when we celebrate our 20th anniversary next year or even when it is
our 25th Anniversary come February 2007, all the members of Batch 1982 will be
present and will be remembered.

To make a long story short, this started a chain of letters. Here are some of them:
Kumusta, Adriano! I agree with you. Count me in. Being a school
adminstrator myself, I always appreciate the help of the alumni in whatever
shape or form. And with all that we learned from LSQC and all the
blessings that have come our way, it is time to give back to our alma
mater.
Leo Virtucio, I hope you do take the lead as suggested by Adriano. Though
I am geographically far from Manila, I shall help in my own little way.
Let me know how I can help.

I second (or third) the motion initiated by Aids. Let's do give back to LSQC,
and I'm sure there is something we can give. And while P1,000 per persons
sounds easy, hope we can translate this into something which the school really
needs. Unfortunately, we only have about a year to contact everybody, to get
ideas, and to execute. So we better get started. (Leo V., I also do hope you
can take the lead.)
Anyways, I have some contacts in the media (as a course of my work) and I can
help out with the more traditional notices, i.e. via newspapers, to notify those
whom we cannot reach electronically. Just do advise me.

For us here overseas, let us know how we can help you. If someone also
could find what are the needs of our alma mater (e.g. equipment, softwares,
etc..). I might work out something to acquire those items. Ang problema
lang ay papaano ko ipapadala diyan. Maybe Jeff P. can mobilize one navy
vessel.

Fellow Lourdesians batch 82,
Mr. Philip Albert P. Felix (St. James?) here announcing the SEC and BIR
requirements for our foundation's registration.
I was able to secure a checklist of requirements for NON-STOCK CORPORATIONS
registration to SEC just this afternoon through our (SMC) legal department.
But looking at the requirements we already need to act on this ahead of our
May 19 meeting so that we wouldn't waste our time.
I suggest that Leo call a special meeting, even for an initial core group,
before May 19 (tentative) so that foundation set-up be tackled immediately.
Leo may name the persons whom he thinks can be called upon to help on this
matter. Volunteers will be greatly appreciated.
Also, I suggest we go ahead choosing our name ahead through the e-mail of
time so that we can work this out as fast as we can. To all lawyers out
there and practicing CPAs we need your comment on these steps as soon as
possible so that we can move to approve whatever we have in the agenda for
next regular meeting.
The special meeting will call for the appointments for the following:
1. Secretary (lawyer), a treasurer, who will be in charge of the
contributions before the foundation is established and a bookkeeper.
2. A bank be nominated as a depository bank for this foundation.
3. An external auditor be nominated.
4. Most importantly, be able to establish our main objective and vision/mission
statement for this foundation and its existence.
May I also suggest that a nominal secretary be appointed even through e-mail
so that from here on our foundation endeavors be fully documented and accounted
for from this point. He/She will also be in charge of the scheduling of our
regular meetings.
For all those Managers & Marketing strategists, please come up with a
marketing plan that you can suggest to enable the foundation generate income
aside from our regular contribution. I hope they would also be able to present
this to the body by May 19 (tentative) to mobilize and optimize our meager
resources.
The SEC & BIR registration pre-requisites are as follows:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Step 1
Verification Slip (Re: Corporate Name) we have to verify with SEC if we have
selected a similar name already registered. We can only proceed to Step 2 after
we have verified the uniquiness of our corporate name. Cost of verification is
P50.00 (estimated). I don't know if we need to have our name affiliated with
our school or whatever legal requirements may arise.
Step 2
If the pre-formatted SEC registration of Non-stock Corporation is availble we
will proceed to purchase this document. This would cost us about P120.00
Step 3
We have to accomplish the form by completing the requirements itemized below.
The following requirements are, I think, is available with the Express Lane
services of SEC.
1. Articles of incorporation
2. By-Laws
3. Registration Data Sheet
4. Secretary's certificate for Non-Stock Corp.
5. List of contributors and amount contributed certified by the Treasurer (Mon Correa)
6. Filing Fee P 427.00
For a foundation a Bank Certificate of Deposit of at least P 50,000.00 is required.
This will be documented through a bank book and a bank certificate. The amount
may only be used after the SEC registration has been fully accomplished.
Step 4
BIR registration is needed. It is required to register a non-stock corporation
in the BIR. For a Corporation the registration fee is P1,000.00. I believe for
a non-stock corporation same amount will apply.
The initial suggestion of P 1,000.00 per batch member will not sound easy
anymore unless we gather enough number of alumnimages/alumnae contributing for
this cause and how effective our would-be managers and marketing managers
implement income generating schemes.
Challenging isn't it. Nice to prove our worth to our alma matter, right?
I believe in our batch. I believe we can. ('di ba Leo?)
GOOD LUCK TO US ALL.
Philip Felix

I would like to follow-up on Atty. Aids Lecaros' proposal that we
immediately set up a bank account for our proposed foundation...
I went to the bank last week and asked for the requirements in
setting up an account for our foundation. These are:
a) Articles of Incorporation
b) Certificate of Registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission
c) Corporate By-laws
d) Board Resolution duly notarized incorportaing the following:
i) Authority to open bank account
ii) Officers authorized to sign and the nature
and extent of such authority.
a), b), and c) are being taken cared of by Mr. Philip Felix.
d) will follow soon after we hold the general meeting on 19 May.
I have been appointed treasurer-in-trust (ad hoc, I believe) during
the 26 April meeting of our foundations core group. Atty. Aids
already contributed P1000 to our foundation. I hope this will be a
good start for our fundraising activity.
To our batchmates in the Philippines, if you guys trust me, while we
are fulfilling the requirements, you may deposit your donations /
contributions to MY LandBank Savings Account # 0717-0195-04 (upon the
suggestion of our corporate secretary, Atty. Lecaros). After
depositing your contributions, kindly send me an email message
containing the amount that you deposited and the LandBank branch
where you made the deposit. I will immediately transfer our
contributions to the LSQC82 Foundation account once we have completed
the requirements.
For those who will not be able to deposit their contributions, kindly
bring them during the May 19 general meeting.
To our batchmates in greener pastures, kindly wait for further
instructions. You will definitely play a major part in the success of
our foundation.

To Aids and Joseph:

starting 05/16/2001 to 06/15/2001.
May I add to the details of our agenda on May 19 so that we may be able to save
time. They are as follows:
TOP PRIORITY: Presentation of total actual local residents batchmates in order
to establish critical mass for setting-up the capitalization of the foundation
and class representation. This will determine the urgency of putting up the
foundation.
VOTATION: Ratification of the organization of the LSQC 82 foundation
If ratified, appproval of the following:
Foundation's name, address and telephone number.
The Name, Nationality and residence of the incorporators (#15)

Initial Capitalization of the foundation contributed by the

Setting of the SEC registry timetable (considering no
extensions for the reservation)

signing authorities on the approved depository bank.
May I also add the election of the spokesperson of the foundation so that the
announcements and communications will be streamlined.
A resolution to be passed for the finality of schedules of the meetings be at
least a week before the agreed date through our e-mail/webpage facility. This will
help us fix our personal schedules.
See you all on the 19th....

Comrades,
I am seconding Atty. Aids' nomination of Roy F. as chair of our foundation, kahit na during this organizational phase man lamang as suggested by CorSec Joseph.
I would like to thank Roy F. for his gesture of brotherhood to our foundation - his willingness to loan us the shortfall of P50,000 just to have our foundation registered by 15 June 2001, without any interest. (Roy, I would like to apologize sa aking previous report wherein I wrote that you were going to charge us a "friendly" interest rate.) Roy F. has become a true blue Louie with his gesture (salamat sa mga pabulong ni Dan Morallo).
Sa mga interesadong magpadala ng dollars from overseas, attn. Homer et al, you can send it to the following account:
Bank: Philippine National Bank
Branch: UP Campus, Diliman, Quezon City
Account Name: Leopoldo T. Virtucio
Account Number: Dollar S/A No. 275-701829-5
I suggest that for those of you who have relatives here in the Philippines, you can ask them to deposit your peso contributions to the following account:
Bank: Landbank
Branch: North Ave. Diliman, Quezon City
Account Name: Leopoldo T. Virtucio
Account Number: Peso S/A No. 0717-0195-04
or they can call me up at:
Office: 926-0936, 928-8659 (8AM to 5PM)
Home: 741-5714 (8PM to 12MN, give me a break naman!)
and I will make arrangements to have your contributions picked up.
Pero, siyempre, we would prefer that our overseas counterparts send their contributions in dollars.
Lastly, I would like to remind our batchmates that 15 June is fast approaching. Hihintayin ba nating maglabas ng pera si Roy F. (I think I know your unaninmous answer). Siyempre, HINDI... We will be expecting your contributions to pour in during the next two weeks.
Thank you very much!
Yours truly,
Leo V.

July 20, 2001
To all our batchmates,
I would like to inform you that we are having a little snag with our registration of
our Foundation because Security Regulatory Commission increased the minimum requirement
capitalization to register the Foundation/association from P50K to P100K, this July.
This was also the time we were able to put up the P50K, unfortunately. As of this time,
we have already raised P53K (see details below). About P21K was extended by Roy
Fernandez to register the Foundation with SEC. Registering the Foundation means we
will establish our foundation's legal entity and be able to solicit legally/openly
from willing business establishment. We are suddenly short of P47K to formalize the
registration.
George and I has so far gathered that some of our batchmates, in preparation for our
first project, headed by Jonas del Rosario and Benjamin Racela - Medical Mission, has
already solicited medicines (Roy Fernandez), crutches (Aids Licaros) and sutures
(circumcision equipment from Carlo de Castro). These are aside from additional
financial contributions from Reuel Almario, Eric de Mesa, Jake Gonzales and Celedonio
Pile and the others that has contributed financially, services and their valuable time.
We believe many more of our batch mates would somehow be able to extend their talent
and professional services and finances for our projects. Details of the contributions
(see details below) and the medical mission will be presented on July 21, at Celedonio
Pile's Padi's Point.
We believe however, that once our foundation is formally registered with SEC, we would
be able to increase our resources for our future projects, such as gift giving in
December and the much awaited grand reunion in February 2002. We also believe that fund
raising projects will be presented on July 21 to establish other possible projects within
this year.
In this regard, I am personally appealing to all who have formally sounded off their
pledges to remit your wholehearted contribution as soon as possible for the SEC
registration of our very own LSQC Batch 82 Foundation and in time for the very first
Medical Mission project of our batch.
You may remit your contributions as follows:
For peso deposits:
Bank: Landbank
Branch: North Ave. Diliman, Quezon City
Account Name: Leopoldo T. Virtucio
Account Number: S/A No. 0717-0195-04
For dollar deposits:
Bank: Philippine National Bank
Branch: UP Campus, Diliman, Quezon City
Account Name: Leopoldo T. Virtucio
Account Number: S/A No. 275-701829-5
Otherwise you may contact our Treasurer, Leopoldo Virtucio at 741-57-14 (Res) or
George Escarraga at 723-42-48 (off) for other arrangements.
Let us all join hands to support the foundation.

Batchmates,
I know it has been quite a while since our talk about the foundation. I
really wanted to post news about the foundation when we have already received
the SEC certificate. But just to keep you on board, the organizing committee
is already in the process of getting the bank certificate (supporting
document part of SEC req't for registration) today, Monday, September 10. As
soon as this document is completed plus the treasurer's affidavit and the
filled up form, we will be able to submit/apply to SEC for registration of
our foundation. Barring any hitches, we are looking in a week's time from
now for the formal registry of our foundation.
That's all I can divuldge for now as far as our foundation's SEC registration
is concerned.
Extend your patience and be ready to work and contribute your time, talent
and financial support to all our projects. If you are also wondering why
there are no meetings set for this month as of this writing, this is due to
the registration of our foundation. Once we are registered we will be
calling all batchmates to attend the a grand assembly to ratify all the
resolutions and establish the necessary committees we will need to run the
foundation. Keep in touch through our Webpage and the e-groups. Please
inform every batchmate of this development so that we can formally establish
our foundation.
Here from us (founation organizing committee) on Thursday.
Prepare to live your philantropic dreams in this foundation.
Pax Et Bonum.

I am very happy to note that all the children in our batchmates are
still within ourselves. Some are acting as if they have not
grown, like me. Parang magkakapatid talaga. This I came to know because
of this e-groups and our web-site. This is good
because we are now learning to communicate as well as use our
technological knowledge to get our very own ideas accross. I
am also very happy to note that the absence of an avenue to express
himself, through our monthly meetings and informal meetings,
tend to use more our e-groups and webpage. In short, we really can't
get enough of each other's company. (Aminin 'nyo na).
Every morning I am eager to up the computer and read e-mails specially
coming from the yahoo groups. To tell you guys frankly,
noong tumahimik ang e-groups early September medyo worried ako. Akala
ko mawawala ang reception ng ating communication.
It is very fascinating to see that some of our batchmates are very
prolific and some are still very silent even if there are
commotions going on (these are the guys who are on-line and keep track
of what's happening at pangisingisi lang - pinakamarami
ito) but participate when sympathy is sought from them, there are those
who respond immediately for sympathy's sake and finally
there are those who show real committment. Thank you for expressing
yourselves as you are. I'm glad that I too can express
myself as such. These different reactions help us grow. Just like our
webpage will grow due to the different demands and needs
of our batchmates. We will make sure that everybody will be able to
express themselves through our e-groups and webpage.
This is a very good tool to extend our helping hand to our brothers who
are in need (spiritually, sympathy, compassion, job,
kabuhayan and financially). This is where we can call all batchmates
and help guide those who are in need. Most of all, this is
also the best tool in our time to look inside and examine ourselves,
though far from each other, and ask the question, "shouldn't we
help first our brother?". Isn't it that this will also give us a chance
to practice our mission statement? Pax et Bonum.
Incidentally, come October 4 is St. Francis's day. Let us be reminded
of his prayer and polish it in our hearts.
Now that all these things are happening, I would like to call on your
professional self and change the picture of our batch's
personality. Let us start contributing like professionals. Let us now
get our talents together and do something more productive.
Let us make use of our tools to facilitate our communication and make it
an avenue of togetherness not destruction. I believe that
the lack of worthwhile activities lead us to become children again. Let
us all open ourselves to compromise and cooperation to
achieve our dream to give back something to our beloved alma mater. Let
us now stop bickering, set aside hatred in our hearts
and sow love and start discussing working together and focus our efforts
in achieving a dream. Let us grow up together. Let us
focus on our brotherhood and spreading goodwill.
I would like to congratulate all of you.
I, in behalf of the organizing committee on Foundation, am formally
announcing a milestone among the batches graduated in
LOURDES SCHOOL QUEZON CITY, that we have achieved the very essence of
LSQC BATCH 82's brotherhood.
LSQC BATCH 82 FOUNDATION, INC. is effectively registered in Securities &
Exchange Commission on October 1, 2001.
We will display our certificate in the website as soon as possible for
your appreciation. Copies of the articles of incorporation and
by-laws will be displayed and handed out on our general meeting within
this October. (date to be announced).
I believe that fulfilling the first step to our dreams lead to another.
I salute all of you. CONGRATULATIONS BATCHMATES.
I call on those who used to hesitate to contribute before to please
contribute for a cause, talent or financially. The formal
Landbank account number will be announced as soon as our papers with the
bank is in order. The rest of the programs for the
foundation's projects will be announced also in the general meeting.
Please attend so you would know where your help is being
appreciated most.

Mr. George Escarraga will post the SEC certificate of registration at the
webpage this Friday, October 5, 2001. Articles of Incorporation and By-laws
will be available at the General Assembly.
Please wear a presentable attire on this occasion because we will have a
formal picture taking for our press release. No shorts please.
For those who would like to share their ideas for the foundation, gift giving
activity and Medical Mission and the grand reunion in February 2002, please
reply back to this message immediately so that you will be given an
oppurtunity to present your programs and be included in the our agenda.
We will strictly follow our agenda to conserve time.
You may also signify your interest to join committees through our e-groups.
The committee chairmen who will present their programs are as follows:
Mr. Jeff Manulid for the fellowship programs
Mr. Reuel Almario for projects
Dr. Jonas del Rosario for the Medical Mission
Mr. Ben Racela for the Ways and Means
Atty. Adrian Lecaros for the Grand Reunion in 2002
Mr. Alexander Cruz for the Golf Tournament Project
Everybody is encouraged to join at least one committee.
Your participation means the success of batch.

Fellow Lourdesians,
It has been more than six months since that meeting in Egay del Castillo's house
and we have come a long way. We were able to register a foundation giving
legitimacy to our organization. Despite all the obstacles, we were able to
hurdle that. Without the team effort and the vision among the batchmates,
we could not have pulled through. Our gratitude goes to Roy Fernandez and
Jonas del Rosario for the additional support given. The untiring efforts
of Philip Felix, Joseph Literal and Leo Virtucio paving the way for the
registration. Our overseas friends also contributed to the success. Special
mention to Eric de Mesa, Jake Gonzales and Dalangin brothers (Alvin and Kerwin).
Of course, to Mon Correa and Raul Clemente who started the e-mail brigade and
Aids Lecaros who holds the distinction of being the first to contribute to the
foundation and challenged everyone to the cause. The list goes on and we are
grateful to everyone who have supported the batch and believing in our cause.
However, this is only the beginning and we should not stop pursuing our beliefs.
Much has to be done to ensure the success of what we have started. Various
fund-raising activities were proposed such as tournaments (golf and billiard),
Wheelers Club solicitation, merchandising using Pugad Baboy characters to name
a few. There was also a suggestion on the launching of 'TOL awards. 'TOL, slang
for brother is an acronym for Ten Outstanding Lourdesians. Our batch could
spearhead the project in coordination with the alumni association. This is a
noble cause since we would be recognizing the worthy contributions of Lourdesians
to our society. To make it more meaningful, we can have this annual event during
the feast month of St. Francis. We should not also forget our tribute to our
batchmates who joined our Creator. Their kids could be possible beneficiaries
of our foundation. There are a lot more suggestions that came out during the
regular meetings. We hope this kind of attitude would not die down. Whatever
little achievements we have done should be our yardstick to do more for the
benefit of our batch.
We are proud of our webpage. Please help us expand and inform all Lourdesians
you know. Invite your friends and tell them the stuff Batch '82 is made of.
We have designed e-groups to cater the needs of our batch. We encourage everyone
to actively participate in our e-groups. All suggestions are welcome. Whatever
inhibitions you have about the foundation, we are glad to enlighten you. We
would be updating you from time to time regarding activities of the batch.
Whether here or abroad, you can participate in molding our batch to a
socio-civic group. Distance is no longer a deterrent. Whether you are active
or just a contributor, you will make a difference.
Let us leave a legacy behind that our sons and daughters would be proud of.
It is about time to give back something to our school and to our society.
We are all proud to be Lourdesians.
Pax!

Fellow Batchmates,
The fund-raising activities raised during the meeting are doable but we have to
fully define the mechanics. These activities are worthy endeavours which we can
maximize given the logistics and resources that we have. Anyway, here are some
suggestions that could help in the success of these activities:
1.0 Billiards
This event could turn into a regular fellowship and a venue to unwind and
exchange pleasantries with your batchmates on a different note. I am sure
there are a lot of billiard afficionados and this should be opened not only
to batchmates but to other Lourdesians as well. A minimum number of players
should be established to ensure the feasibility of the activity. I would
suggest that part of the fee suggested (Php500.00) aside from an assured
number of games played, it can come up with two free beers. Other technical
matters should be fully drawn.
2.0 Wheelers Club
Based on the report of Aids, the offer of Makyo is vey hard to resist. I am
sure at least everyone of us have our own cars and that alone, we could already
raise funds. Wheelers Club is willing to give 50% of the annual fee to our
coffers plus the fact that we would be having an exclusive Wheelers Club card
bering the logo of LSQC. I suggest further that we consider a motivating scheme,
say giving a commission to the sponsor for the effort. This is going to be a
three-way benefit. First, we are promoting Wheelers Club. Second, we are
helping our foundation raise the needed funds to operate an honest-to-goodness
scholarship program and other projects. Lastly, whatever commission generated
is an added "coffee money" to our batchmate. If you are resourceful enough,
you can earn a decent sideline.
3.0 Merchandising
The offer of Pol Medina, creator of Pugad Baboy comic series through the effort
of Aids, is very noble. However, a rigid study on the right product should be
done to ensure its success. This project could enlist the support not only our
batch but also the entire LSQC community specially the alumni association.
We can propose to the silver jubilarians next year to give us the exclusivity
of all trade items and sell it during the homecoming next February. We should
also consider Lourdes School Mandaluyong since this is also a very good market.
Other satellite activities related to merchandising could be derived but it can
be done on a phase by phase basis. (Note: Si Aids yung Atty. Adriano sa comic
strip. Mas okey yung hitsura mo sa strip, 'pre).
The activities mentioned above are just proposals that can be done given the
proper planning and timing. This is a rich source of funds that can help us
raise our objective. Remember, we want to achieve at least Php5M in 5 years
for the foundation. Come to think of it, interest alone would finance our
programs. We should think of self-reliance.

George

Batchmates,
Our scholarship program is designed to be implemented during the celebration
of our silver anniversary in the year 2007. We are still gathering materials
as to the mechanics of the program. We would like also to solicit your inputs
and thoughts regarding this program. The implementing body would be LSQC
Batch82 Foundation, Inc.
The underlying question would be how to fund such ambitious project? Our main
objective is to raise at least Php5M by that time. the interest alone would be
suffice to have a decent scholarship program. We have identified three possible
sources of funds, namely:
1.0 donations
2.0 scholarship chair
3.0 foreign grants
So far, we have been doing Item 1 and requesting for support from our batchmates.
Many have responded which led to the registration of our foundation. There is no
stipulated amount as far as donations are concerned and they have been properly
documented and credited to our account.
The second source of funds would be the scholarship chair. Each chair would cost
Php25,000.00 per year for 5 years amounting to Php125,000.00. There would be an
initial 50 chairs. The mechanics of this program would be discussed very well
during the planning session. We are still collating additional information from
other similar programs. Ever since the program was announced during the last
meeting, 14 batchmates have signified their intention to support the program.
The last possible sourcing of funds is through foreign grants. This is more on
the long-term aspect of our program which would be realized in 6-10 years. We
still have to implement the program before we seek foreign grants. This would
be the ultimate goal for us to be able to sustain a bigger and better program
that would benefit underprivileged but deserving kids.
We need the full support of our batchmates for this endeavour. We hope we can
refine this program on our second year of existence. We know we can count on you!
Pax!

Dear George,
From now until year 2007, we have almost 5 years to work on this.
I have a suggestion on the scholarship chair. You mentioned that one option
is to have scholarship chairs which cost PhP25,000 each per year for five
years; or a total of PhP125,000. If in case, however, that some batchmates
would donate for each chair for the full value of PhP125,000 this year
instead of spreading it over five years, we can invest it in fixed income
term placements or common trust funds for 5 years and enjoy tax-free returns
of at least 60% after the 5-year period.
Thanks!

Correct ka dyan Mr. Dayrit. I Second the motion.
However, we hesitated to post such an amount that not all of our batchmates
are able to donate immediately the given amount. Your suggestion is the
best scenario among others. The scenario that Mr. Escarraga is presenting
has much to do with the economic capability of the majority of our
batchmates. It is addressed to who are willing to help/donate to a cause
but with limited funds because the majority of the population of our batch
is in the middle income level. It is a strategy to get more of our
batchmates to participate on this project.
The objective here is to accumulate as much funds as possible in a year or
even in a month, place it in a trust fund set it unitl 2007 with no
withdrawal. Only the interest of the funds will be used to support the
scholars. Therefore the bigger the accumulated base of the funds the
better. So, very soon, we will be in need of a very good fund manager for
this purpose. Not all funds will come in simultaneously, right? Those who
would signify their intention to participate on the professorial chair
project will be covered with a 5 year contract of contribution. We have
thought of schemes that would be very flexible enough even if a batchmate
can only contribute so much. Once the contract has been fully paid, the
contributor will have a say on the decision making in granting the
scholarship up to the extent of his share.
By the way, the foundation funds is separate from the batch 82 funds. The
small projects that we do and earn from these projects, goes
proportionately to the foundation. Say 60%. Example, the t-shirt sales
earn a net proceeds of P 10,000.00, therefore, P 6,000.00 goes to the
foundation and P 4,000.00 is retained to the batch for future projects.
The above are still ideas and concepts for the project. We need all
batchmate's support on this project from suggestions, participation in
meetings and implementation of this long term project.
Thank you very much, Anot for bringing this up. I hope others would also
sound off their ideas and suggestions the soonest.
It is to the appreciation of the officers of the batch to receive
suggestions from all batchmates.
This is a way to reach a dream of contributing to the welfare of our
society and establish a legacy that we can always say,
We are proud to be a Lourdesian ....... We are proud to be part of batch
82.........E PLURIBUS UNUM (FROM MANY WE ARE ONE)....... FOR BEING ONE WE
WILL SUCCEED. MARAMING ANAK, ISANG PANGARAP; LOURDES IS FOREVER, BATCH 82
ALWAYS TOGETHER..... BATCH 82 FOR LIFE.
SINU-SINO PA BA ANG MAGTUTULUNGAN KUNDI TAYU-TAYO RIN
LET'S VOLT IN !!!!!! And after all these, we can always sa @!@#$@, buhay
ka pa!
So, do I hear somebody say "SUPORTERAN TAKA" & "SUPORTAHAN TA KA"?
Pax.
ONLY THEN WE CAN SAY "WE CAME, WE SAW, WE CONQUERED"
(all those who suggested Batch themes, notice them? They are all recorded
here and I know who you are. Thank you.)

Dear Batchmates,
The seed of our foundation was planted almost two years ago today, during the 2001 Lourdes High School Grand Alumni Homecoming. Since then our batchmates have responded positively to the call for contributions to our foundation and have rekindled and revitalized friendships.
